PORTALES, N.M. – There is no better way to prepare for an Eastern New Mexico football game than tailgating. ENMU Athletics has revised tailgating guidelines to make the experience more fan friendly.

"When I arrived at Eastern New Mexico, I saw a high potential to make changes to improving our tailgate experience," said director of athletics Kevin Fite. "Tailgating can now start at 8 a.m. on game days and have expanded the space to all lots west of the stadium. We are looking forward to creating more memories with our fans, alumni, and community as we enhance our tailgating experience and support ENMU football this fall."
 

The most notable change will be the new start time for tailgating on game days. For all six football contests in 2025, fans can begin to tailgate at 8 a.m. Fans can tailgate up until kickoff. After kickoff, no tailgating is allowed.

Another bonus to the tailgate experience is that fans can tailgate in Lots A, B, and C west. There is no longer a restriction on when tailgating fans can consume alcohol.

Those who use RV's will be able to park in the designated RV area beginning at 5 p.m. on the day before a Greyhound football game.

Eastern New Mexico Athletics will be selling reserved tailgating spots in Lot B. Those will be available for purchase at www.goeasternathletics.com

The 2025 home schedule includes:
Aug. 28 vs. New Mexico Highlands | 6 p.m.
Sept. 13 vs. Angelo State | 6 p.m.
Oct. 11 vs. Western Oregon | 3 p.m.
Oct. 25 vs. Western New Mexico | 3 p.m.
Nov. 1 vs. Sul Ross State | 6 p.m.
Nov. 15 vs. Texas A&M-Kingsville | 1 p.m.
 
There will also be several tailgating promotions throughout the season. During the first game versus New Mexico Highlands, Dawg Houze is sponsoring the "Official Greyhound Athletics Tailgating Cup." The first 500 tailgaters will receive a cup. Also, Western Commerce Bank will be sponsoring a t-shirt for 750 tailgaters for the Military Appreciation Night game against Angelo State.
