CLARENDON, TEXAS – The ENMU Rodeo team competed in their third rodeo of the season at the Clarendon College Stadium this weekend. Nine Greyhounds finished in the top-ten in their events, including
Hadley White who finished as the reserve champion in the All-Around and tie-down roping on the men's side after placing in the tie-down roping and steer wrestling. The women's team finished third overall, while the men finished in 7
th.
Hadley White continued his recent success in Clarendon, earning the reserve champion title in the tie-down roping after a 11.8 run in the long run and following up with a 12.4 in the short round. White also placed eighth in the steer wrestling with 10.2 and 13.4 runs. White has placed in the top-ten in either the steer wrestling or tie down in all three rodeos to start the season.
Orran Hart joined White on the leaderboard in the steer wrestling, placing 6
th after a quick 5.3-second run in the long road and a 15-flat battle in the short-go. Laramie Cullen and
Cash Chavez earned their first top-ten finishes of the season; Collen had a 10.8 in the long round and a 20.2 in the championship round in the tie-down roping. Chavez and partner Byars Brown from Texas Tech placed tenth in the team roping with a 10.8-second run in the long round.
Mia Box found herself near the top of the leaderboards once again after last weekend's All-Around and breakaway titles, placing as the reserve champion in the barrel racing with two sub-16 runs at 15.13 and 15.22. ENMU lead the way in the barrel racing with three women placing in the top-ten:
Shaeden Marr finished in 6
th (15.34 & 16.90), and
Allie Murphy earned her third-straight finish in the top-ten in 7
th, running a 15.08 in the long round but knocked over a barrel in the short-go.
Kaylee Stroud improved on last weekends 8
th place finish in the goat tying the NMJC Thunderbird Rodeo, placing fourth in Clarendon after posting the fastest time in the long round with a 6.4 and a 7.4 in the short-go.
Shaylee Baxley returned to the leaderboard in the breakaway roping, tossing a 2.6 in the long round and a 3.2 in the short-go for a three-way tie for third.
The women's team finished in third overall, with Stroud leading the way in the scoring. The men's team finished in seventh.
The ENMU Rodeo team will continue the fall stretch at Frank Phillips College in Canadian, Texas next weekend October 8
