Box Score AUSTIN, Texas – A five-run opening inning for (RV) St. Edward's setup the Hilltoppers for a 7-0 victory against Eastern New Mexico on Saturday afternoon.

"We have to have more quality at-bats going into tomorrow," said head coach Riley Price after the game. "We have to compete better."

The Greyhounds started out the contest by loading the bases, but stranded the runners with a three-pitch strikeout. SEU answered the early look from ENMU by scoring five runs in the first inning for a second-consecutive day.

SEU effectively played small ball before a three-run homer gave the Hilltoppers the 5-0 edge. St. Edward's pitching staff was quite effective against the Greyhound hitters. Connor Freeman threw 6.2 innings allowing just three hits and three walks. Freeman threw seven strikeouts in the winning effort.

The Hilltoppers added insurance in the second and sixth inning to get the game to its final score, 7-0.

ENMU finished the afternoon with just five hits. Gabriel Watson led the Greyhounds with a pair of singles. Eiji Sawamura, Jake Willerup, and Ryan Weaver also were credited with a single. Adin Morehouse got on-base twice with two walks. Adrien Martin and Willerup earned a free pass to first base with a walk.

Eastern only used two arms in the outing. Alex Sanderson began the game and gave up six runs on six hits over three innings of work. Micah early came in for relief and allowed three hits and a run over five innings on the mound.

Eastern New Mexico finished the game leaving 10 runners on base and scoring zero runs for the first time since Apr. 4, 2025 against St. Mary's.

The Greyhounds and Hilltoppers will play the final game of the series tomorrow afternoon with first pitch slated for 12 p.m. MT.
