Friday, October 02, 2015

WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS — Goalkeeper Cristina Escobedo made a pair of saves to keep Midwestern State (4-2-2; LSC 1-1-1) off the scoreboard in the second half, but the Mustangs handed the Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team (3-5-1; LSC 0-2) team a 2-0 setback, Friday at MSU Soccer Field. The Lone Star Conference game was the first of a two-game road trip.

Destinee Williamson tallied her third goal of the season, 14:44 into the game, to stake MSU to the lead. She added a second goal less than five minutes later.

Melissa Moxley paced the Hounds with two shots with one on goal. Courtney Burdette made one save for the Mustangs, while Karissa Stinson had two for ENMU.

The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team will visit sixth-ranked Angelo State on Sunday. The contest is scheduled for 12 p.m. MT.
