PORTALES, NM —The Eastern New Mexico University men's soccer team will play its final two matches of the regular season. After a strong second half against West Texas A&M on Sunday, the Hounds will look to close the 2017 campaign strong.
Thursday's home finale will be against Lubbock Christian at 7 p.m. MT. An afternoon (12 p.m.) contest at West Texas A&M will be played on Saturday.
On Thursday night, the Greyhounds will honor their four senior competitors:
Waly Elifrance
Waly Elifrance has played in 32 games for the Hounds over the last two years. His defensive performance allowed Eastern to post its sixth-best goals-against average last year at 1.61 per game.
Ignacio Dicun
Ignacio Dicun has played in 52 games for the Hounds since 2014 and has always had a knack for scoring. With six goals and five assists, he has helped Eastern to win 23 games over his four seasons. He had a three-point game this season with a goal and an assist.
Nicolai Alstrom
Nicolai Alstrom has played in 33 games over the past two seasons and has been an asset on both sides of the field. This year, he tallied dramatic game-winning goals in games against University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and Oklahoma Christian.
Chivasiay Gallagher
Chivasiay Gallagher joined the men's soccer team after two successful seasons with the football team. He has appeared in 13 games this season and had a season-best three shots against Adams State and UT Permian Basin.

Nicolai Alstrom all have two goals and an assist. Both of Alstrom's goals were dramatic game-winners.

Cody Wann and
Ryan Flores have split time in net this season and have combined for a 2.33 goals against average.
Head Coach
Paul Tate is in his third season and with a 16-27-7 record is tied with Carlos Elizondo for the program record for victories.

Lubbock Christian is 5-9-2 with a 4-6-2 mark in Heartland play. Corey Hutchinson leads the Chaparrals with four goals and two assists. Parker O'Quinn has been the team's primary goalkeeper and has a 1.22 goals-against average with an .803 save percentage.
The Greyhounds are 5-2-3 against Lubbock Christian with a 3-1-1 mark at home. Earlier this season,
the Chaparrals captured a 1-0 victory over Eastern on a goal from Abdou Joof, 1:43 into the second half.
Ryan Flores made six saves for the Hounds in net in the game.
Last season, the
Greyhounds earned a critical 2-1 road win over LCU which helped them qualify for the Heartland Conference tournament.
Ryan McManus scored both goals for Eastern, which included the game-winning score with 2:01 left in regulation.
James Gutierrez made six saves as the Hounds overcame a 21-8 deficit in total shots to earn the win.

West Texas A&M has a 10-4-1 overall record with an 8-3-1 mark in Heartland play. Callum Chalindor leads WT with nine goals and two assists. Alexander Vencel has been WT's primary goalkeeper and boasts a 0.86 goals against average with a .783 save percentage.

Christopher Mesquita tallied his fifth goal of the season just one minute into the second half, and the Hounds went shot-for-shot with the regionally ranked Buffaloes. The Greyhounds closed the 2016 regular season in dramatic fashion with a 2-1 upset of West Texas A&M. After a scoreless first half,

Omary Shabani to score the game's first goal at the 53:09 mark. WT's Simon Sebbah managed to tie the game less than four minutes later on a breakaway.
Ryan Sinclair scored on a free kick from 33 yards out with just over 20 minutes to play and the Hounds never looked back.
James Gutierrez made six saves as the Greyhounds clinched a berth in the Heartland Conference tournament.
