ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Track and Field finished their second and final day at the MLK Indoor Collegiate Invitational.
Multiple Hounds saw season and career bests as the team competed against tough Division I and Division II schools.
Ivar Moinat will return to Portales after taking second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.55. Moinat knocked off 1.05 seconds from his time at the Corky Classic last weekend.
Senior
Mercy Rotich took 10
th in the women's mile with a time of 5:12.29. Rotich ran against athletes from Pepperdine, UC Irvine and CSU-Pueblo. Along with Rotich in the mile was

Three Greyhound women placed in the shot-put finals with freshman
Tamia Smith taking 20
th out of 31 final competitors. Smith's throw of 10.95m is a personal best for the freshman after recording a 10.84 last weekend. Senior
Bryanna Williams came in at 10.92m to take the 21
st spot.
Out of 50 runners in the women's 60-meter dash, Hound
Maijah Mathis took 16
th with a time of 7.89. Mathis raced against athletes from UC Irvine, San Francisco State, CSU Bakersfield and Pepperdine.
The Hounds had four runners in the men's mile with
Jon Fuentes taking 15
th place out of 28 runners. Fuentes crossed the line with a time of 4:31.77, a personal best for the freshman knocking 3.62 seconds off his time.
Jessie Madrid followed at the 19
th place finishing with a time of 4:34.67.
Greyhound women's 4 x 400 beat out both teams from Pepperdine as they finished 15
th out of 19 teams. The team finished with a time of 4:10.85, a season best knocking off 5.5 seconds from the first indoor meet of the season.
The Greyhounds are halfway through their indoor season and will turn to Albuquerque next weekend for a meet at the University of New Mexico.
