INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Eastern New Mexico garnered two student-athletes,
Andre Smikle and
Kennedy Ulmer, to compete in the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships next weekend in Emporia, Kan.

Smikle, the junior from Tortola, British Virgin Islands, won the men's discus throw last weekend at the LSC Outdoor Championships with a mark of 54.71 meters (179-6). The mark was the 12
th farthest in the NCAA this season and is the farthest throw in program history.

Ulmer, the senior from Rio Rancho, led the Greyhounds to three runner-up finishes at the LSC championships this past weekend in the discus, javelin, and hammer throw. In the discus, Ulmer tossed a 50.92 (167-0) which was good for the ninth farthest throw in the NCAA DII this season and the farthest throw in program history.

The championships will begin on Thursday, May 21, and will end on Saturday, May 23 at Emporia State at the Francis G. Welch Stadium.

Smikle will compete on Friday, May 22, at 12:30 p.m. MT Â \ 1:30 p.m. CT while Ulmer will compete right after at 3:30 p.m. MT Â \ Â 4:30 p.m. CT. Live stream of the events can be found at NCAA.com.
