Pitch Preview: #15 West Texas A&M

The Greyhounds welcome #15 West Texas A&M to Greyhound Stadium on Wednesday

PORTALES, N.M. – With just two weeks remaining in the regular season, Eastern New Mexico Women's Soccer play #15 West Texas A&M on Wednesday, Oct. 19, with a 4 p.m. kickoff from Greyhound Stadium.

LAST TIME OUT

Eastern were on the wrong side of two 1-0 defeats in last week's games. First, the Greyhounds battle UT Permian Basin, with the Falcons winning 1-0 despite controlling majority of the chances in the game. Then, Eastern held the #1 Dallas Baptist University to just one goal in a 1-0 loss. Samantha Jeffries produced eight saves in the match with DBU.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

Overall, the Greyhounds sport a 4-9-1 record (2-6-1 in LSC), with five goals scored, 5.9 shots per game, with 47.0%. On defense, Eastern are allowing 1.07 goals per game with opponents scoring on 6.4% of shots. ENMU keepers have produced 85 saves this season, holding a 0.850 save percentage.

Eastern have had five different goal scorers this season: Tori Galindo, Kelsey Medina, Abby Ditzler, Emma Hafenbrak, and Samantha Vasquez. Hannah Grady leads the team in shots (13) and shots on goal (8), while Ditzler is just behind with 10 shots on the season and seven shots on goal. Jeffries has played every minute for the Greyhounds this season in net. Maria-Frances Serrant and Asha James are the dynamic duo for the Buffs, with 13 and nine goals respectively (1st and 2nd in the LSC conference). Serrant also leads the conference in points with 28, while James is second in the LSC with 22 points. Additionally, the pair lead the conference in shots and shots on goal, while Serrant is 2nd in the LSC for game-winning-goals with five. In defense, Reagan Heelan has been a standout this season having recently win their third LSC Goalkeeper of the Week. Heelan leads the conference with nine shutouts, 0.359 goals against average, and 93.0% save percentage.
