RICHARDSON, Texas – The men's and women's cross country preseason poll was released by the Lone Star Conference today.
Eastern New Mexico women's program was chosen to finish sixth out of fifteen league teams and the men's team was chosen eleventh out of fourteen programs.
Last season, the women took fourth in the conference championships behind Dallas Baptist, West Texas A&M and Texas A&M International. The men finished eleventh in the league meet.
The voters for the preseason poll includes coaches, sports information directors, and media representatives.
The Greyhounds return
Lethabo Seema,
Marta Pascoa, and
Kaylyn De La Rosa who placed in the top-53 in the conference race.
Lauren Griego and
Zoe Hutcherson also are back for ENMU. Two freshmen,
Valeria Martinez and
Elise Toya, join the squad for this fall.
On the men's side, ENMU welcomes transfers
Luis Holguin and
Ethan Woodrome along with returners,
Devis Cheruiyot and
Ricky Diaz.
The first race for the Hounds is Sept. 2 at the ACU Naimadu Classic in Abilene, Texas. The competition will begin at 5:30 p.m.
