Greyhound men's cross country completes 2025 season at conference championships

FORT WORTH, Texas - Eastern New Mexico men's cross country finished the season at the 2025 Lone Star Conference cross country championships with Jackson Gable leading the Greyhounds, finishing 90th overall in the 8k race with a time of 28:29.23.

"We had some people step up. They did what was asked," said assistant coach Keyanah Browning after the race. "They saw the women's race beforehand and knew what they needed to do based on the conditions of the course."

With rain coming down days before the race, the AP Ranch course in Fort Worth, Texas had muddy areas throughout, particularly on the back half of the loop around the course where a majority of the hills were. The Greyhounds battled and stayed on pace.

Thomas Aerdts crossed the finish line in 29:13.62 for 99th place, while teammate Brian Norton followed closely behind in 101st place with a time of 29:22.85. Emmanuel Hernandez posted a 29:47.10 finish. Eloy Serrano-Borrego rounded out the scoring five for Eastern New Mexico, finishing with a time of 30:53.78.

West Texas A&M beat out the competition, claiming first place with 20 points. DBU finished second with 77 points, followed by UT Tyler in third with 93 points. Oklahoma Christian (134 points) and Cameron (169 points) completed the top five teams.

Eastern New Mexico placed 13th in the 14-team field with 416 points, ahead of Sul Ross State, who did not have five finishers in the race.

ENMU men's cross country will not compete at regionals in Pueblo, Colo. in two weeks. Student-athletes will now prepare for the indoor track season beginning in close to five weeks.
