PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico cross country is set for the 2025 Lone Star Conference cross country championships on Saturday, October 25. Before the championship meet, please take a look at the Three Mile Preview:
Mile One – Honors Keep Coming: Freshman
Chama El Hadiri is raking in several accolades in her first season with Eastern New Mexico. The Morocco native is now a two-time Lone Star Conference freshman runner of the week after earning the recognition for being the top finisher from the league at the DBU Old Glory Gallop. El Hadiri ran a collegiate best 18:23 5K in Fort Worth, Texas two weeks ago. She and her fellow teammates will be tasked with the 6K course at the same venue this weekend.
Mile Two – Running in the Lone Star State: The AP Ranch course is no stranger to large meets. Just two weeks ago, a little over 50 colleges and universities met for the DBU Old Glory Gallop. Eastern New Mexico earned several personal best marks on the course and plan to exceed those results this weekend. The course features two large loops around the soccer/football complexes. A fairly flat terrain with long straightaways to give runners time to increase pace and take advantage of the course. This will be the second time this season ENMU has run at AP Ranch and the third time this season that Eastern has competed at a meet in the state of Texas.
Mile Three – Who To Watch: West Texas A&M is the highest rated team in the south central region among programs from the Lone Star Conference. DBU, UT Tyler, and Cameron are teams to keep an eye on in the men's race as they all finished among the top 12 at the DBU Old Glory Gallop. Midwestern State, UT Tyler, and DBU are teams to watch out for in the women's race as those schools finished among the top six at the DBU Old Glory Gallop. Five men will represent ENMU in Fort Worth –

Jackson Gable,
Emmanuel Hernandez,
Brian Norton, and
