PORTALES, N.M.
- New Mexico's only NCAA men's soccer team is two days away from kicking off their 2022 campaign.

First-year head coach, Brandon Misuraca is leading the Greyhounds into a pair of matches in Oklahoma to begin the season.

Stephen Romero (Albuquerque), Alan Darnold (Alamogordo), Tyler Casias (Albuquerque), and Miguel Pedroza (Albuquerque) played high school soccer in NM.

Players To Watch
Liam Mirandon (Jr., Forward, Paris, France), Ludwig Scherer (So., Defender, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany), and Miguel Pedroza (Jr., Goalkeeper, Albuquerque, N.M.) are the Greyhounds representatives on the LSC men's soccer preseason players to watch list. Mirandon transferred to ENMU from Newberry College where he played in 22 games, started in 11, and scored three goals in two seasons. Scherer came to Portales via Oklahoma Panhandle State where he started 14 games and scored two goals while playing under Misuraca. Pedroza transferred to Eastern after playing two seasons at Trinidad State Junior College.

Preseason Poll
Eastern was picked to finish 10th in the Lone Star Conference preseason poll according to league coaches, sports information directors, and media representatives.The team finish in 7th in conference action in 2019.

Eastern trails the overall series with Rogers State, 2-0-1. The programs last met in Portales when the Hillcats beat the Greyhounds, 1-0.
