RICHARDSON, Texas — Following their hat-trick this past weekend, Nick Huenig of Eastern New Mexico Men's Soccer has been named the Lone Star Conference (LSC) Offensive Player of the Week. Huenig is the third Greyhound to win a player of the week honor this season, with Hugo Sacco and Felix Drizinsky receiving a player of week honor earlier in the campaign. Hueing is the first Greyhound in program history to win offensive player of the week from the LSC, garnering a second career player of the week accolade.
The Junior forward made an instant impact off the bench during the Greyhounds 4-2 victory over #16 St. Mary's this past Saturday. The Lichtenberg, Germany native scored the teams final three goals of the match, leading to the Greyhound's first win over the Rattlers since 2007. The three-goal haul was the first by an ENMU student-athlete since 2015, when Ryan McManus scored a treble against Southern Nazarene (10/31/15).
Eastern continue LSC action on Wednesday, Oct. 11, as they travel to Lubbock Christian University, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. (MST). Then, the Greyhounds return to Greyhound Stadium to face St. Edward's University on Saturday, Oct. 14, beginning at 7 p.m.
