Six Members of Women's Soccer Earn CSC All-Academic Honors

Abbie Dickens, Emma Hafenbrak, Haley Huff, Samantha Jeffries, Sierra VIllanueva, and Sarah Tate were all named to the CSC Academic All-District Team

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Soccer had six members receive Academic All-District® Honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), on Tuesday afternoon. Seniors Emma Hafenbrak, Haley Huff, and Samantha Jeffries were recognized alongside juniors Abbie Dickens, Sarah Tate, and Sierra Villanueva. Jeffries collects their fourth academic honor in their career, Huff and Villanueva add their second, and the first for Dickens, Hafenbrak, and Tate. Huff, Jeffries, Villanueva are now two-time recipients of CSC Academic All-District honors, while Dickens, Hafenbrak, and Tate earn the nod for the first time.

Jeffries finished their ENMU athletic career with two selections to the LSC Women's Soccer All-Academic team (2022 and 2023), and currently holds a 4.0 GPA. The Digital Filmmaking major played every game in net for the Greyhounds this season making 81 saves in 18 games. Jeffries earned LSC Goalkeeper of the week honors early in the season (9/5) after a pair of draws.

Villanueva picks up their second honor from the CSC, sporting a 4.0 GPA as a Social Work major, with a minor in Psychology. On the field, Villanueva played in the midfield and defense for the Greyhounds starting every game of the season. Villanueva averaged over 81 minutes per game, scoring against Oklahoma Christian (10/18).

Dickens joined the Hounds in January and played their first season for ENMU, maintaining a 4.0 GPA as a Criminal Justice major with a minor in Spanish. Dickens collected an assist in 17 games with 13 starts for the Greyhounds. The junior provided seven shots to the offense in 652 minutes.

Hafenbrak earns Academic All-District honors in their final season with ENMU, majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Wildlife and Fisheries with a 3.97 GPA. The senior led the Greyhounds with a team high five points scoring a pair of goals and adding one assist.

Huff is recognized to the CSC Academic All-District for the second time, holding an 3.86 GPA towards a degree in Psychology along with a minor in general business. Huff provided a team high two assists during the season, while scoring the Greyhounds first goal of the season against Fort Lewis (9/2). The Henderson, Nevada native played in all 18 games making 17 starts.

Tate gathers their first academic honor with Eastern, starting every game for the Greyhounds and leading all outfield players with 1518 minutes played. The center back holds a 3.84 GPA working towards a degree in Early Childhood Education. Tate finished the season with 16 shots with six on goal from defense.

In order to be considered for the CoSIDA Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must have played 90% of the team's games or start in 66.6% of the team's games with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
