Grady Inks Deal With FC Málaga City Femenino

Grady is the first Greyhound from the Woman’s Soccer Program to sign with a professional contract, based on available records.

PORTALES, N.M - Former Eastern New Mexico Woman's Soccer standout Hannah Grady has signed with FC Málaga City Femenino, announced on Wednesday, May 17.

The former midfielder joined Eastern New Mexico for their final collegiate season, after spending one season at Portland State University. Before playing for Vikings, Grady earned All-American honors at the junior college level at Mt. San Antonio College.

While with the Greyhounds, Grady patrolled the midfield in every game this season averaging 87.5 minutes per game. The defensive-minded midfielder helped the Greyhounds keep seven shutouts, while providing one goal and one assist throughout the season. The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. native provided the game winning goal during Eastern's 1-0 victory over UT Tyler (10/28) and completed the season with a team high 16 shots and nine shots on goal.

"We are really excited and happy for Hannah," said Head Woman's Soccer Coach Eric Belcher. "Hannah has been an important part of our program since she stepped on campus. I can't wait to see what she will accomplish as a professional," said Belcher.

"I'm excited to continue my soccer career, while exploring a new country," said Grady. "The style of play in Spain is very different the USA, more focused on passing and possession, and I'm excited to adapt to this new style while bringing my strengths to the team," said Grady.

"As a first-generation college graduate, I have always bet on myself and I'm continuing to do so with my soccer career. Along with a new soccer journey, I'm excited to immerse myself in a new culture and working on becoming bilingual," said Grady.

Grady will join FC Málaga City Femenino later this summer in preparation for the 2023-24 season

FC Málaga City Femenino was formed in 2020 and under the FC Málaga City Group, which was created in 2013. A full-time program has players train/play in a professional environment as well as competing in the Spanish league system. The program plays several showcase matches against some of the top teams in Spain, providing an opportunity and exposure for players.
