RICHARDSON, Texas – The Lone Star Conference announced the 2023 women's cross country preseason polls Tuesday afternoon and the men's on Wednesday afternoon.
Eastern New Mexico men's cross country is predicted to finish twelfth in the league as voted by conference sports information directors, media, and coaches. The women were slated at thirteenth for the upcoming year.
The 2023 season gets going September 2 when the Hounds travel to Las Cruces for the Lori Fitzgerald Open. The campaign concludes with ENMU hosting the LSC cross country championships in Portales on October 21.
This year, four student-athletes were recognized as "Runners to Watch."
Those include Matthew Guerra (Fr., El Paso, Texas), Gustavo Padilla (Fr., Anthony, N.M.), Maritza Alvarez (Sr., Roswell, N.M.), and Kaylyn de la Rosa (Sr., Rio Grande City, Texas).
Eastern will run six meets, including a home meet on October 7. All 2023 cross country information can be found
