RICHARDSON, Texas — Eastern New Mexico Men's Soccer claimed two Lone Star Conference (LSC) player of the week honors, following an 1-0-1 week. Felix Drizinsky was named LSC Defensive Player of the Week, and Hugo Sacco was named LSC Goalkeeper of the Week. Sacco and Drizinsky are the first men's soccer student-athletes to receive a weekly honor this season, with both earning the honor for the first time in their career.
Sacco made an instant impact posting a shutout in net during his collegiate debut, with a 1-0 win over DBU. Then, Sacco held the nations top scoring offense, Texas A&M International, to a 1-1 draw with four saves in the match. The Marseille, France native finished the with seven saves over two games, including the Greyhounds first shutout of the season. Meanwhile, Drizinsky aided the Hounds defense in both games, playing 45 minutes in the shutout win with DBU, and playing 88 minutes in the draw with TAMIU. During the match with the Dustdevils, Drizinsky opened the scoring for ENMU in the 37th minute, while holding TAMIU to a season low five shots on goal. The Dustdevils were leading the nation in goals per game, shots per game, and assists per game before facing ENMU.
Eastern wrap up non-conference play as they travel to St.Mary's on Wednesday, Sept. 27 beginning at 6 p.m. (MST).
