WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Mikaela Garvin of Eastern New Mexico Volleyball has been recognized to the 2023 Midwestern State Invitational All-Tournament team. Garvin helped the team pick up a 3-0 sweep over West Alabama, along with two tough five set defeats against Western Colorado and Southwestern Oklahoma State.

The San Antonio, Texas played in all 16 sets for ENMU over the weekend, totaling 54 kills, 66.5 points, 15.0 total blocks, and a hitting percentage of .336. In a five-set match with Western Colorado, Garvin posted a career best 25.5 points with 19 kills and seven total blocks. Garvin followed that performance with a 17-kill match and eight digs against SWOSU. During the Hounds win against West Alabama, Garvin posted a team high 12 kills while holding a hitting percentage of .556. After the first weekend, Garvin is in the top-10 in the LSC for kills per set (7th, 3.38 k/s) and points per set (7th, 4.16 p/s).
Eastern return to the floor when they travel to Odessa, Texas for the Dr. Steve Aicinema "Iceman" Invitational on Friday, Sept. 8. The Greyhounds will face Sul Ross State (9/8 @ 8 a.m.), UT Permian Basin (9/8 @ 12 p.m.), Minnesota Crookston (9/9 @ 8 a.m.) and Southwest (N.M.) (9/9 @ 2 p.m.).
