PORTALES, N.M. - Eastern New Mexico University head volleyball coach
Karli Bustos announced the hiring of
Julie Ramos as the assistant volleyball coach.
Â
Ramos most recently served as assistant volleyball coach at Trinidad State College, where she helped guide the Trojans to a 23-10 record in her first season (2024) before posting a 15-16 mark in 2025. During her tenure at Trinidad State, she developed and implemented training programs tailored to individual athletes and teams while managing volleyball equipment and volleyball operations.
Â
A standout player in her own right, Ramos earned First Team All-District honors in volleyball at Southwest High School and was named to the All-Tournament team at the 2018 Burbank High School Tournament. She continued her playing career at both Trinidad State College and Alliance University, gaining valuable experience that she now brings to her coaching experience.
Â
Beyond her volleyball credentials, Ramos possesses a strong communications and public relations background. She served as the social media manager for Alliance University's women's volleyball team, where she maintained social media calendars and worked with design teams to create visually appealing graphics across all channels. Her experience also includes radio internship work at WNYK Radio in Manhattan, where she operated control consoles and conducted interviews with show guests.
Â
"We're thrilled to welcome Julie to our volleyball family," said ENMU head coach
Karli Bustos. "Her combination of playing experience and coaching success makes her an ideal fit for our program. Julie's ability to connect with players and her understanding of what it takes to develop student-athletes both on and off the court will have an immediate positive impact on our team's culture and development."
