Men's Soccer's Pablo Nodar Recognized as LSC Defensive Player of the Week

Nodar earns his first weekly honor of his career.

RICHARDSON, Texas — Pablo Nodar has been named Lone Star Conference (LSC) Defender of the Week, following the Greyhounds 2-0 victory over Sul Ross State, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Nodar is the second Greyhound to win a player of the week accolade, as Kris McDonald also earned defensive player of the week in the opening week of the season.

The full-back played all 90 minutes during the shutout, while scoring his second goal of the season (game-winning-goal). A Chantada, Spain native, Nodar grabbed his goal after a counterattack move, with Alexandre Meres playing Nodar through on goal. The win over Sul Ross State was the first in program history.

Eastern open conference play on Saturday, Oct. 5, against St. Mary's at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium. Kickoff is slated to begin at 1 p.m. following the conclusion the women's soccer game beginning at 10:30 a.m.
