MSU travel to Portales to take on the Greyhounds this weekend

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Men's Soccer play their home finale on Saturday evening against (RV) Midwestern State. Kickoff between the two LSC foes is slated for 6 p.m. from Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium.

SERIES INSIGHT

  • Eastern New Mexico and Midwestern State meet up for 29th time in series history, with the Mustangs leading 22-3-3 all-time.
  • Eastern has had success recently against the Mustangs, winning two of the last three meetings between the programs (both wins came at home).
  • The last two meetings have produced 1-0 wins for the home team, as the Mustangs bested the Greyhounds in 2023, and the Greyhounds won in 2022.

  • Milo Paci has established themselves in goal for the Greyhounds, playing the opening eight conference matches with three clean sheets in that span. The freshman is allowing just 1.18 goals against average, with a save percentage of 0.776.

SCOUTING THE (RV) MUSTANGS

  • Midwestern State sit comfortably in second place now in LSC standings, holding a record of 10-2-3 overall with a 5-2-1 conference record. Recently, MSU dropped out of the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll for the first time this season, reaching as high as 7th in Week 1.
  • Mere Escobar continues to shine for MSU, leading the conference with 14 goals and six assists in 15 games. Escobar's 34 points is 5th in the nation, while his 14 goals is tied for 5th. In terms of career marks, Escobar is the NCAA DII active career leader for points (145) and goals (58), while being 3rd in assists (29).
