SAN ANGELO, Texas – Eastern New Mexico Women's Soccer earned a pair of honors during the 2024 LSC Women's Soccer Awards Banquet on the campus of Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas on Thursday evening.
Rosie Willmott Joyce was recognized to the LSC All-Freshman Team, while
Sierra Villanueva earned LSC All-Academic Honors.
Willmott Joyce earns a spot on the all-freshman squad after leading the conference with 5.44 saves per game in net. The Reading, England native made 87 saves in their debut season for the Greyhounds, keeping three shutouts. The goalkeeper is the first Greyhound in program history to be named to the LSC All-Freshman team. Meanwhile, Villanueva earns a spot on the LSC All-Academic team. Being named to the LSC Commissioner Honor Roll six times, the senior social work major has a 3.98 career GPA, playing 15 games this season with 10 starts. In their career, Villanueva has played 65 times for ENMU with close to 5,000 minutes played.
Eastern completed their season with a 3-13-1 overall record, garnering a conference record of 2-11-0. The Greyhounds finished up the season under interim head coach
Nona Borden, joining ENMU for their first season this past fall.
