PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Baseball look to get back on track as they travel to UT Tyler for a weekend series with the Patriots. An evening game kicks off the series on Thursday, March 28, at 6 p.m. (MST). The series continues Friday, March 29, with each team playing a doubleheader at 2 p.m. (MST) and 5 p.m. (MST). Both teams conclude the series on Saturday, March 30, with a single game beginning at 12 p.m. (MST).

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDSÂ
The Greyhounds (14-16, 12-16) look to right the ship after battling the Falcons of UT Permian Basin in their last home series. Eastern took the opening game 6-5, with
Gavin Perry and
Ruger Bravo combining for the win. Bravo tossed four shutout innings to earn the save, while Perry picked up their 5
th consecutive win. In the remainder of the series, ENMU dropped a tight 7-5 ball game in extra innings, then the Falcons took a comfortable 6-2 win and 16-8 victory.
Eastern New Mexico batters have a .282 batting average, scoring 201 runs with 260 hits and 166 RBIs. Eastern's hitters have drawn 126 walks, with 74 extra base hits this season. On the rubber, Eastern New Mexico's ERA sits 6.91 coming into the series. Allowing 284 hits and 202 runs. The Greyhounds pitchers have drawn 209 strikeouts, while holding opponents to a .301 batting average.
Willie Ponce paces the team with a .373 batting average, along with 38 hits and 39 runs scored. The Greyhound shortstop has accumulated 14 walks and 13 hit-by-pitches, leading to a .504 on-base percentage.

Beau Preston leads the Eastern bats with 25 RBIs. Perry, now 5-2 on the mound (3
rd in LSC for wins), has been the ace of the staff. The Junior has a team best 41.2 innings pitched this season with 35 K's.
Ruger Bravo earned their first save of the season their last time out, making seven starts prior to that performance.
Josaiah Estrella (4.81 ERA) has been effective for the Greyhounds staff, while Terilli has been the go-to relief arm with three saves this season.
SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS
UT Tyler (18-14, 18-14) hope to bounce back after dropping three games to #4 West Texas A&M. During the series opener, the Buffs claimed a 7-4 victory while the Patriots took game two of the series, 16-15. However, the nationally ranked West Texas A&M took game three 8-2, and the series finale 18-16.
The Patriots have a .300 batting average so far this season, picking up 297 hits with 192 RBIs, scoring 212 runs. UT Tyler forced 123 walks, while scattering 112 extra base hits, while holding a .503 slugging percentage (3
rd best in LSC). The UTT pitching sports a 6.19 ERA so far this season, holding opposing hitters to a .303 batting average. The team has produced 215 strikeouts, while giving up 300 hits and 202 runs.
Four different hitters have a batting average above .300 this season, with Lane Hutchinson leading that group at .392. Hutchinson and Ethan Bedgood lead the team with 47 hits each, with the former leading the group in RBIs (32) and runs scored (27). Austin Ochoa (.339) and Blake LaBuda also are key fixtures in the UT Tyler batting lineup. On the mound, Rawley Hector has a team best eight starts this season, sporting a 3.54 ERA, with 36 strikeouts, and a .277 opposing batting average. Dylan Blomquist has a 4.10 ERA in six starts this season, while Nick Niebur leads the team with 12 appearances from the bullpen along with a 2.66 ERA and three saves.
