Volleyball Faces 27-Match Schedule In 2024

Eastern have a trio of tournaments before a 16 match conference schedule

PORTALES, N.M. – With the season opener just under two months away, Eastern New Mexico Volleyball has announced it's 2024 schedule. The 27-match schedule features three tournaments with 16 Lone Star Conference matches, including 11 matches at Greyhound Arena.

Eastern begins their season in the Centennial State, traveling to the Steel City Showcase in Pueblo, Colo. for a quartet of matches. The first match of the weekend is against Minnesota-Crookston (Sept. 6, 8 a.m.), then face Lake Superior State at 12:30 p.m. later in the day. ENMU wraps up the weekend on Sept. 7, against Cal State East Bay (10:30 a.m.) and against the hosts CSU-Pueblo (2:30 p.m.).

After the trip to Colorado, ENMU ventures to South Dakota marking the programs first trip to The Mount Rushmore State. Traveling to Spearfish, S.D., Eastern have four matches scheduled starting on Sept. 13 facing Sioux Falls (S.D.) at 10 a.m. and hosts Black Hills State at 2 p.m. The Greyhounds conclude the trip with two matches against Minnesota-Crookston (9:30 a.m.) and South Dakota Mines (3:30 p.m.) on Sept. 14.

The non-conference schedule for the Greyhounds wraps up in Portales, with the LSC Crossover being held at Greyhound Arena for the second consecutive year. Midwestern State, Western N.M., and LSC newcomers Sul Ross State come in as part of the three-day (Sept. 19-21) crossover, featuring six total non-conference matches. Eastern face Midwestern State on Sept. 19 at 6 p.m., Sul Ross State on Sept. 20 at 6 p.m., and finish the weekend against Western New Mexico on Sept. 21 at 2 p.m.

ENMU heads to the Lone Star State to begin LSC action against UT Permian Basin (Sept. 26), then come back to New Mexico to battle against Western New Mexico (Sept. 28). The month of October begins at home for Eastern, enjoying a two-match homestand against Lubbock Christian (Oct. 4) and Angelo State (Oct. 5). Following their first home conference weekend, the Greyhounds travel to Lawton, Okla. to play Cameron (Oct. 9), then return home to face reigning conference champions West Texas A&M (Oct. 12).

The Greyhounds head back on the road to Texas to compete against UT Tyler (Oct. 18) and DBU (Oct. 19), then return home to battle St. Mary's (Oct. 25) and St. Edward's (Oct. 26). Eastern close out October on the road, heading to Oklahoma to play Oklahoma Christian (Oct. 30). ENMU heads home to begin the month of November, battling Sul Ross State (Nov. 2) in the 36th meeting between the programs, and the first as conference opponents.

Eastern make the long road trip to Kingsville, Texas and Laredo, Texas for the final road trips of the season. ENMU battles the Javelinas of Texas A&M-Kingsville on Nov. 8, then take on the Dustdevils of Texas A&M International on Nov. 9. The final weekend of the regular season will be at home, welcoming Texas Woman's on Nov. 15. Finally, the regular season concludes against the Mustangs of Midwestern State on Nov. 16.
