LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced Eastern New Mexico as one of the recipients of the 2023-24 AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT on Wednesday afternoon.

The award, which was initiated following the 1992-93 academic year, is presented to collegiate and high school volleyball teams that maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average.

It is the sixth time in program history the Greyhounds have been recognized, the first time since 2019. Under the guidance of head coach Sia Poyer, the Greyhounds have earned the award for the fourth time.

Eastern was one of eight programs from the Lone Star Conference to receive the award, joining Angelo State, DBU, Lubbock Christian, St. Edward's, St. Mary's, Texas A&M-Kingsville, West Texas A&M, and UT Tyler.
