PORTALES, N.M. – After over two weeks away from home, Eastern New Mexico Men's Soccer play their final non-conference game of the season, as Sul Ross State face the Greyhounds on Saturday, Sept. 28, beginning at 6 p.m. at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium. The program will be honoring its graduating seniors before the game, beginning roughly at 5:40 p.m.

SERIES INSIGHT

• The Greyhounds will meet the Lobos for the first time in program history.
• Sul Ross State joined the Lone Star Conference for the 2024-25 season and are in the reclassification period from DIII to DII.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

• Eastern look to get back in the win column, going without a win since there season opener against Adams State (W, 2-0, 9/5/24). Currently, the Greyhounds have a 1-2-3 standing, with their last match being a 2-2 draw with #14 Fort Hays State.
• The Greyhounds have scored seven times this season, while allowing a goal in each of their last five games.
• Nick Huenig and Ben Sauerländer each have scored twice for the Greyhounds, while three other goal scorers have scored once. Sauerländer paces the team for points with six, adding a pair of assists. Kevin Nunez and Teddy McIntyre also have two assists, while Huenig leads the team with 10 shots.
• For goalkeeping, Milo Paci and Catalin Nastuta have each played three games this season. Paci has a superior goal against average (1.33) with a record of 1-1-1, while Nastuta holds a 0-1-2 standing with 10 saves on the season.
• Per game, Eastern is averaging seven shots per contest with 38.1 percent of shots going on goal. ENMU has produced 12 yellow cards over the opening matches, with 69 fouls committed so far this season.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS

• The Lobos start their first season as a Division II competitor, holding a 4-2 record and a 2-1 record against Division II opponents.
• Recently, Sul Ross State dropped a 2-0 contest to Wayland Baptist, while beating Adams State 3-0 in the game prior.
• SRSU have found the net 11 times this season, while only conceding six goals. Three different Lobos have scored twice this season, as Carlos Gonzalez leads the team for points with two goals and two assists. Lewis Coates paces the team with 17 shots.
• Benjamin Aviles has played five games in net for the Lobos, giving up six goals with 1.20 goals against average and a pair of shutouts.
• The Lobos are finding 14.8 shots per game, with close to 50% of those shots going on goal. Sul Russ State have accumulated 18 yellow cards and one red in the opening six games, while being penalized for 72 fouls.
