LUBBOCK, Texas – The Corky Classic hosted by Texas Tech did not disappoint as dozens of world-class student-athletes competed in the meet. Eastern New Mexico was represented by a group of sprinters and jumpers over the weekend.
"Our hurdlers are competing well. Continuing to set the tone there," said head coach
Joshua Harden after the meet. "We are just going to keep working and trust the process."
For a third-straight meet, freshman
Devyn Ericksen broke her own school record in the 60m hurdles. The Farmington, N.M. native ran the short sprint in 9.25s. She improved her previous record by 0.05s.

Helena Carboo-Klutsey, and
Gabriela Elizalde had a busy weekend competing in multiple events at the meet.
Scarlett (7.65s), Elizalde (7.97s), and Midgett (7.99s) all competed in the 60m. Carboo-Klutsey (25.76s) and Midgett (26.09s) represented ENMU in the 200m race. Carboo-Klutsey also ran in the 400m (58.98s).
Eastern New Mexico ran a season-best time in the 4x400 with the team of Carboo-Klutsey, Scarlett,
Minerva Cerda Hernandez, and Elizalde finishing in 3:59.85.
Jodian Stewart competed in the long jump for the Greyhounds. Stewart finished in 20th after a jump of 5.54m (18-2.25).

The track and field program will split squads this week. One group will head to a meet hosted by the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and another group will be at a meet in Albuquerque, N.M.
