PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico men's and women's track and field will split up this weekend between two meets. One group of Greyhounds will stay in the Land of Enchantment for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational hosted by the University of New Mexico. Another group is heading to the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs for a meet in the Centennial State. Before the busy weekend, please read the 4x4 Preview:
1x4 – Success In Lubbock: Jamoi Jackson is second in the Lone Star Conference after finishing the 400m in 48.47s.
Riley Midgett placed herself in the top 16 in the 200m after running a 26.16s time.
Byron Pruitt had a personal best 8.64s run in the 60m hurdles pushing him into the top 12 among conference competitors. Jackson, Midgett, and Pruitt will not compete in either race this weekend as they prepare for future meets.
2x4 - From LBK to ABQ: Devyn Ericksen broke her own school record in the 60m hurdles with a 9.25s result. She ranks in the top ten among runners in the conference.
Helena Carboo-Klutsey ranks in the top ten in the Lone Star Conference in the 200m after running 25.83s post-altitude conversion in Lubbock. Her personal record in the event came in Albuquerque one year ago when she crossed the line in 24.97s.
Jodian Stewart moved to the top eight among LSC jumpers in the long jump after her performance in Lubbock.
Kyler Joe is also in the top ten in the LSC after racing the 400m in 49.14s at last week's Corky Classic.
Brian Norton and
Thomas Aerdts both ran in the 800m in Lubbock and currently sit in the top ten in the 800m among runners from the LSC.
Hemon Joseph ranks third in the LSC after his long jump performance at TTU. Ericksen, Carboo-Klutsey, Stewart, Joe, Norton, Aerdts, and Joseph are expected to run at the meet hosted by UNM this weekend.
3x4 - From LBK to UCCS: Out of 32 entries for ENMU men's track and field in Colorado Springs, only one student-athlete competed in Lubbock last week.
Omarion Scott appeared in the 60m (7.09s) and 200m (22.68s) and will do so this weekend in Colorado. He ranks in the top 21 among all student-athletes in the LSC. Eastern New Mexico will have 25 entries in the meet on the women's side. No entrant in the meet at UCCS competed at TTU this weekend among the women's group.
4x4 - Following the Hounds: The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational will be covered on FloTrack. Greyhound fans who have already purchased FloCollege should be able to use their logins to access this weekend's meet. Record Timing will cover live stats for the meet. Events will begin Friday at 3 p.m. and conclude around 8 p.m. before resuming at 10 a.m. Saturday and concluding around 3 p.m. The UCCS Invite is slated to be covered on the RMAC Network. All access is available on the conference's streaming webpage. Rapid Results will have live results for the meet in Colorado.
