TOPEKA, Kan. – Eastern New Mexico women's track and field set three school records during the Washburn Alumni Invitational meet to open the 2025-26 season.
"This is what we like to see," said head coach
Joshua Harden when asked about the meet. "I am excited to get to January with the full team."
Devyn Ericksen bettered her existing school record in the 60m hurdles while
Celina Thomas set the ENMU record in the triple jump and newcomer
SeiOriana Glass did so in the weight throw.
Ericksen's record came in the prelims with an 8.78s time and she took third in the finals with an 8.88s result.
Thomas broke the school record in triple jump with a 12.18m (39-11.5) mark. Her teammate
Jerriana McWilliams also earned a top five mark in school history with a 11.53m (37-10) mark.
Glass earned the new school record on her fifth throw of the day. A 16.08m (52-9.25) beat out the previous mark set by Adilene Adame (16.06m) in 2018.
Riley Midgett (7.90s),
Ambrosia Francis (7.94s), and Ericksen (7.96s) ran the 60m for ENMU. Francis and Ericksen had personal record performances.
Midgett (25.54s) and
Meghan Rodriguez (26.81s) entered the 200m race. Rodriguez also ran the 600y with a personal best 1:28.89 time.
Newcomer
Joella Mathilda (2:31.43) nearly had a personal best in the 800m.
Chama El Hadiri (5:12.24) had a runner up finisher in the mile in her first track field competition as a Greyhound.
Aeriana Langley is one of the most improved Greyhounds as she cleared a personal best in the high jump at 1.60m (5-3).
McWilliams 5.28m (17-4) and Thomas 5.21m (17-1.25) both competed in the long jump.
Olivia Lucero threw 10.71m (35-1.75) in the shot put. Joining Glass in the weight throw was
Vivica Addison 14.96m (49-1) and Lucero 14.56m (47-9.25).
Eastern New Mexico will now prepare for the first meet of the 2026 portion of the indoor season where they will compete at the Friday Night Axe 'Em Open hosted by Northern Arizona.
