LUBBOCK, Texas – Eastern New Mexico men's track and field had two personal best marks this weekend at the Stan Scott Invitational hosted by Texas Tech.
Socorro, N.M. native
Braden Mounyo started the meet on a strong note with an 8.56s run in the 60m hurdles. Mounyo's PB time was good for 32nd in a field of several top DI and DII hurdlers.
"It was a good run for Braden," said head coach
Joshua Harden after the meet. "Still not everything we needed in the race, and we already know what we have to work on."
The Friday night momentum carried into the 400m as
Jamoi Jackson moved into the second place mark in school history. His personal best run of 47.10s helped him finish seventh in a field of 68 runners. Jackson currently ranks sixth in the nation in the event and first among all runners in the Lone Star Conference.
"I am pleased with the run," said Harden when asked about the personal best time. "He was able to put a run out and we're going to work for two weeks and take this time to train and get the body right."
The program will be off next week before splitting up for two meets, February 14-15. One group of Greyhounds will be in Albuquerque and another group will compete in Lubbock.
