Men's track and field closes out LSC championships in sixth place with several personal bests, scoring marks

Two Greyhounds earn podium finishes at 2025 LSC indoor championships

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico men's track and field left it all on the track with an excellent showing at the 2025 Lone Star Conference indoor track and field championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

"The guys competed well," said head coach Joshua Harden after the meet. "We look to continue to build upon a weekend like this. It took some PB's to get to the finals in some events and the hard work is truly paying off."

Two Hounds ended up reaching the podium at the championship.

Hemon Joseph entered the heptathlon and made a strong effort in all seven events as he finished in first or second among the competitors in every single event. He led the group in the first two events of the day winning the 60m with a 7.06s finish and posting the best long jump at 6.83m (22-5). Joseph also competed in the long jump as an individual event. He posted a 7.12m (23-4.5) mark in the event to take fourth overall.

Freshman Strahinja Radakovic made the most of his first LSC championship by taking third in the 60m hurdles. The Greyhound newcomer made the finals after an 8.01s finish in the prelims. From there, he bettered his time to take third in the competition with a 7.97s result.

Radakovic's teammate Braden Mounyo also joined him in the 60m hurdles finals. Mounyo ran 8.45s in the prelims and took sixth overall after crossing the line in 8.40s in the finals. His time ranks second all-time in ENMU history.

It was a busy two days for Eastern New Mexico with several top eight finishes.

Steve Taylor II took seventh in the 60m with a 6.89s time. Jamoi Jackson continues a strong indoor season with a fourth place finish in the 400m with a 47.60s time.

Thomas Aerdts had a strong path to the finals. The mid-distance specialist had a major personal record in the prelims with a 1:52.78 time. He went on to finish eighth in the event.

The 4x400 squad of Kyler Joe, Alec Forney, Brian Norton, and Nicolo Salaris posted the program's second best time (3:17.96) as they finished in eighth.

William Mclilly had a sixth place nod in the high jump with a clearance of 1.88m (6-2).

Noe Ybaben-Burciaga also had a nice outing in both the weight throw and shot put as he bettered previous marks in both events. His shot put throw went 14.04m (46-0.75) and his result in weight was 14.75m (48-4.75).

With two weeks before the NCAA DII championships field is set, one Greyhound (Jamoi Jackson) is in a position to make it in the 400m race.
