INDIANAPOLIS –
Jamoi Jackson inked first team all-america honors after a fifth place finish at the 2025 DII indoor track and field championships.
Jackson completed the 400m race in 47.29s ahead of three other all-american runners Saturday afternoon. The Jamaican got into the finals with a 47.14s finish winning his heat in the Thursday prelims.
The fifth place nod earns ENMU men's track and field four points in the championships. Eastern New Mexico earned 37th overall among 71 programs. The Greyhounds were the fourth best finisher among Lone Star Conference institutions in the event. It is the third-straight year with an Eastern student-athlete competing at the indoor championships for the men's program.
Overall, Pittsburg State won the men's indoor title with 76 points. West Texas A&M (29 pts – 6th), Angelo State (27 pts – 8th), UT Tyler (6 pts – 30th), Eastern New Mexico (4 pts – 37th), Texas A&M-Kingsville (3.5 pts – 42nd), and Lubbock Christian (2 pts – 46th) were the teams to compete from the LSC.
"We are showing consistency being able to get a student-athlete here (at the championships) and have them compete at this meet," said head coach
Joshua Harden. "It means that we still have work to do. That is the biggest thing. I am happy for his (
Jamoi Jackson) success, but in order for us to take the next step, we need more than one person here at the meet."
The Greyhounds close out the 2025 indoor season and will quickly get to the outdoor season as the team splits up for two different meets next weekend.
