CANYON, Texas – The West Texas Relays provided a great opportunity for ENMU women's track and field to begin their outdoor season. The sun was shining and several top competitors from around the region competed at the first meet of the year.
First year Greyhound
Meredith Brown showed an immediate impact for ENMU. The two-sport student-athlete ran the 200m in a personal best 25.85s. She nearly earned another personal record mark in the 400m after running 1:01.04.
Mahault Lebrun ran competitively for the first time in nearly 15 months for Eastern. The France native posted a 1:02.77 time in the 400m. She is expected to run in the 400m hurdles next week at the Greyhound Invite. She is the current school record holder in the event.
The jumps crew saw some good signs over the opening weekend.
Genesis Carter finished the triple jump with an 11.08m (36-4.25) mark. Her teammate
Jerriana McWilliams earned a personal best in the event at 10.80m (35-5.25).
Junior college transfer
Leslie Jaquez posted a personal best in the hammer in Canyon. Jaquez threw 39.76m (130-5) in the event.
