FRISCO, Texas – Six Greyhound men's basketball student-athletes earned Lone Star Conference honors at the 2025 basketball banquet.
"These individual honors are a reflection of our team," said head coach Daven Võ when asked about the awards. "We've done a good job at recruiting good players. We have to continue raising the bar and that's going to take a lot of work."
Two ENMU student-athletes earned second team all-LSC recognition.
Jose Murillo and
Mario Whitley were part of a trio of returners from the 2023-24 squad. Murillo earned the honor after a season that saw him garner 13.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Whitley takes second team credit after a solid year that saw him average 15.8 points (7th LSC) and 8.8 rebounds (3rd LSC) per contest.
Cougar Downing and
Treyvon Byrd were named third all-LSC honorees. Downing is second in the conference with a 45.7% mark from three point range. Byrd played a key role for ENMU appearing in all 28 games and posting 11.7 points per contest.
Cooper Jackson earned two recognitions from the Lone Star Conference. The Lawrence, Kan. native was named to the all-LSC defensive team and was part of the all-LSC honorable mention team. Jackson led the league with 64 steals this season.
Guard
Mo Austin was named to the all-LSC freshman team. The Pueblo, Colo. native started 20 of 27 games for the Hounds. He led ENMU with 78 assists and posted 9.0 points per contest shooting 49.5% from the floor.
Eastern New Mexico also had six honorees during the 2022-23 season. Since awards have been tracked, it is the first time ENMU has had at least eight different awards from the LSC during the postseason banquet.
