PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Baseball heads to Odessa, Texas for its first road trip of March, playing UT Permian Basin in a four-game conference series. ENMU and UTPB start the weekend with a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 7, with game two scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. (MST). The series continues Saturday, March 8, playing at 12 p.m. (MST). Both teams conclude the series on Sunday, March 9, facing each other at 11 a.m. (MST).

SERIES INSIGHT
- Eastern and UT Permian Basin re-new the LSC rivalry, as the Greyhounds hold a slight advantage over the Falcons with a 24-21 record. In conference play, the Falcons have a better record with a 17-14 standing.
- In last season's meeting, the Falocns took three road games from the Greyhounds, winning the final three games of the series, including the series finale, 16-8. ENMU began the weekend with a 6-5 victory over the Falcons.
- The last time the teams matched up in Odessa, the teams came away with a 2-2Â split. ENMU took a tight series opener, 4-3, then split the doubleheader, falling 0-7 and winning 5-2. The Falcons earned a split by winning the series finale in seven innings, 13-3.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
- Eastern New Mexico (10-8, 8-8 LSC) enters the weekend with some confidence after beating Cameron in a four game home series, 3-1. The offense posted 46 runs over the four-games, winning its first home conference series of the season.
- Offensively, the Greyhounds are batting at .303 on the season, scoring 128 runs on 162 hits, including 59 extra base hits. Eastern have drawn 81 walks, posting 112 RBIs, stealing 44 bases. ENMU's pitching staff has a 5.70 ERA, recording 115 strikeouts and an opposing batting average of .312.
- After recording a hit in every game last weekend, Luciano Terilli has a team high of 24 hits, 16 walks, six doubles, and four home runs for the Greyhounds. Willie Ponce paces the team for batting average (.397) and runs scored (19), while Jalen Freeman has a team best 17 RBIs following six RBIs against Cameron. Kyle Kiernan has excelled since moving into the cleanup spot, batting .385 on the season, with four extra base hits in their last three games.
- Nick Mooney leads the pitching staff with a 3.55 ERA, while Cole Lancaster has thrown the most innings in five starts for the Greyhounds this season, 26.1 IP. Lancaster holds the team best 23 strikeouts, while reliever Adrian Rubio is just behind with 20 strikeouts in 15.0 IP. Roman Connolly comes off a solid outing, striking out a season-high 11 batters over seven innings in a victory.
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
- UT Permian Basin (3-17, 3-17 LSC) snapped a 10-game losing skid during their last series against West Texas A&M, taking one game from the Buffs in a 3-1 series loss. The Buffs beat UTPB in the series opener, 26-6, with the Falcons stealing the second game of the doubleheader, 14-1. WT took the final game of the series, 8-0.
- The Falcons have a .252 batting average, scoring 86 runs during their first 20 games of the season. UTPB has provided 74 RBIs, with 34 doubles, four triples, and seven home runs. UT Permian Basin holds a 10.55 ERA over 141.2 innings pitched. The Falcons have 86 strikeouts this season, holding opposing hitters to a .358 batting average.
- Kaleb Scull leads the team hitting wise in the opening five weekends, sporting 24 hits with a .343 batting average. Carson Johnson has a team high of 15 RBIs, with Brent Rigtrup's .300 batting average, which is second best on the team. Jack Haggerty (.297 BA, 19 H), Taylor McDaniel (16 H), and Makai DeSoto (7 RBIs) have each started every game for the Falcons.
- For the Falcons pitching, Damian Robels leads all starting pitchers with a 5.25 ERA. Timmy LaChappa is one of two Falcons to start on the hill every weekend, holding a team best 19 strikeouts. Trevor Barth has accumulated 25.2 IP pitched (team high) in five starts.
