PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico men's and women's track and field prepares for their next meet as they head to Canyon, Texas for the Jo Meaker Classic. Before the program heads to West Texas A&M, please take a look at the 4x4 Preview:

1x4 – Denton Recap: The Greyhounds competed last week at the Bill Schmidt Invite hosted by North Texas. The competition featured several DI, DII, DII, and NAIA programs. Byron Pruitt earned a victory in the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.91s. Two other men's team members had a top five finish in an event. Timothy Frederick took fourth in the 200m with a 21.75s result. Brian Norton finished fifth in the 800m at 1:59.02. The women's team was guided by Helena Carboo-Klutsey who took a top five finish in two different events. She took third in the 400m at 59.70s. She followed that performance with a fifth place nod in the 200m after clocking a 25.09s time.

2x4 – Multis Preparation: Hemon Joseph will compete in the decathlon. He is expected to begin the competition on Thursday and the festivities will conclude on Friday. His personal best point total in the decathlon is 6278. The event features the 100m, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400m, 110m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1500m. Joseph's personal bests in each event include 100m (10.89s), long jump (6.90m outdoor), shot put (12.75m), high jump (1.77m outdoor), 400m (53.69s), 110m hurdles (16.21s), discus (35.55m), pole vault (3.90m), javelin (60.92m), and 1500m (5:32.85).

3x4 – Rankings Revealed: The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the most recent national, regional, conference, and event squad rankings. Eastern New Mexico men's track and field boasts a No. 15 slot in the region, No. 7 in the conference, No. 14 event squad nationally in the 100m, No. 25 event squad nationally in the 200m, No. 30 event squad nationally in the 400m, and No. 34 event squad nationally in the long jump. Greyhound women's track and field sits 12th in the region, sixth in the conference, No. 12 event squad nationally in the 100m, No. 26 event squad nationally in the 200m, No. 46 event squad nationally in the 400m, and No. 33 event squad nationally in the hammer.

4x4 – Looking At Canyon: Eastern will feature 84 entries at the 2025 Jo Meaker Classic and Multis. Eight members of the men's team who are among the top ten in the LSC rankings in a specific event will compete this weekend. Those student-athletes include Steve Taylor II (100m), Thomas Aerdts (800m), Strahinja Radakovic (100m hurdles), Braden Mounyo (100m hurdles, triple jump), Byron Pruitt (400m hurdles), William Mclilly (high jump), Noe Ybaben Burciaga (shot put), and Devin Gallegos (javelin). Nine student-athletes who sit in the top ten rankings for an event in the LSC for the women's team will be competing this weekend. Those include Grizell Scarlett (100m, 200m, 4x100), Devyn Ericksen (100m hurdles), Jodian Stewart (4x100), Riley Midgett (4x100), Gabriela Elizalde (4x100), Celina Thomas (triple jump), Kennedy Ulmer (discus, javelin), Jha'Niah Johnson (hammer), and Deziree Bosquez (javelin).
