PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico track and field will need to wait an additional week to get back to competition as the Buffalo Invitational hosted by West Texas A&M has been canceled.
The meet was supposed to take place on April 17. Instead, the Greyhounds will next compete at the Don Kirby Twilight Friday, April 25 in Albuquerque.
Eastern New Mexico is coming off several incredible marks at the Jo Meaker Classic, including school records set/improved at the meet. Some of those times include Timothy Fredrick (400m – 46.59s),
Devyn Ericksen (110m hurdles – 14.45s),
Jodian Stewart (long jump – 6.31m),
Celina Thomas (triple jump – 12.23m), and
Kennedy Ulmer (hammer - 50.02m).
In 2025, 13 Greyhound entries have resulted in NCAA DII provisional marks.
For the women, they include
Grizell Scarlett (100m, 200m, 4x100),
Jodian Stewart (4x100, long jump),
Riley Midgett (4x100),
Helena Carboo-Klutsey (4x100), and
Kennedy Ulmer (discus, javelin).
For the men, they include
Timothy Frederick (400m, 4x100, 4x400),
Strahinja Radakovic (110m hurdles),
Steve Taylor II (4x100),
Nicolo Salaris (4x100),
Jude Murray (4x100),
Tre Buchanan (4x400),
Jamoi Jackson (4x400),
Kyler Joe (4x400),
Alex Williams (javelin), and
Hemon Joseph (javelin, decathlon).
