PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico men's and women's track and field competes at two meets this weekend. Before the Greyhounds travel to South Plains College and the University of New Mexico, please take a look at the 4x4 Preview:

1x4 – Impressive Marks: Greyhound men's and women's track and field posted solid results at the Jo Meaker Classic and Multi two weeks ago at West Texas A&M. Between the two programs, 22 Greyhounds posted a time/mark in the top 12 among all LSC competitors at the last meet. Grizell Scarlett was part of three NCAA DII provisional marks. Those events include the 100m, 200m, and 4x100. Timothy Frederick was part of two provisional marks in the 400m and 4x100. Jodian Stewart was also part of two provisionals in the long jump and 4x100. Hemon Joseph collected provisional marks in the decathlon (6477) and the javelin. Alex Williams joined Joseph in collecting a national qualifying throw in javelin. The men's 4x100 included Frederick, Steve Taylor II, Nicolo Salaris, and Jude Murray. The women's 4x100 relay included Stewart, Scarlett, Riley Midgett, and Helena Carboo-Klutsey.

2x4 – Conference Honor: Sophomore Jodian Stewart was recently named Lone Star Conference female field athlete of the week. She is the second Hound to earn the honor this season. Stewart improved her school record in the long jump with a 6.31m (20-8.5) jump. She did so on the first attempt of the day and nearly improved that result during the next try. The Jamaica native also ran a leg in the 4x100, which posted a NCAA DII provisional time. The relay time is the second quickest in school history. This was Stewart's first ever weekly honor from the LSC.

3x4 – Duke City Bound: ENMU will send 67 entries for the Don Kirby Tailwind Twilight. The men's and women's 200m will be the busiest events for Eastern New Mexico. Representing the men in the event include Timothy Frederick, Strahinja Radakovic, Tre Buchanan, Kyler Joe, Nicolo Salaris, Steve Taylor II, Malachi Torres, Cooper Burgess, Edvin Unger, John Magee, Abisai Torres, and Elijah Davis. The women's 200m will feature Grizell Scarlett, Meredith Brown, Helena Carboo-Klutsey, Gabriela Elizalde, Meghan Rodriguez, Cheyenne McGhee, and Riley Midgett. The program will have field event entries for both genders in high jump, long jump, pole vault, and triple jump.

4x4 – Ready for South Plains: The men's program will have 25 entries at the meet in Levelland, Texas. The women's team will feature 33 participants in the meet at SPC. A mixture of short and long sprints will be the most active events for the men. John Magee, Abisai Torres, and Malachi Torres are entered for both the 100m and 200m. Three other Hounds will run the 200m alongside the aforementioned trio. Justin Sauceda, Jackson Gable, and Emmanuel Hernandez will be part of a crew that will run the 5000m. Both Sauceda and Gable have times under 17 minutes this season. Short sprints and hammer throw are the busiest events for the women. Ambrosia Francis, Journie Alexander, Gabriela Elizalde, Meredith Brown, Malia Sanchez, Jaliyah Denny, and Cheyenne McGhee will enter in both the 100m and 200m. Six different student-athletes – Kennedy Ulmer, Jha'Niah Johnson, Leslie Jaquez, Olivia Lucero, Allysun Jones, and Deziree Bosquez – all compete in the hammer throw.
