LEVELLAND, Texas – Eastern New Mexico men's track and field closed out the regular season for the outdoor campaign at the SPC Texan Invite. Four different Hounds snagged a personal best mark at the meet.
"We had an opportunity to get one more run and one more throw in," said head coach
Joshua Harden when asked about the meet for the men. "The group did that and came away with a few PR's."
Abisai Torres continued his excellent weekend with a back-to-back PR in the 100m after clocking a 10.84s time.
Distance runner
Emmanuel Hernandez posted his best 5000m time on the track with a 20:30.88 result.
The other two personal best marks came in the throws. Third year Hound,
Noe Ybaben Burciaga had a 14.30m (46-11) throw in the shot put. He ranks in the top ten among conference competitors in the event. Freshman
Ricardo Neira tossed 39.09m (128-3) in the hammer.
The meet proved to be a great competition opportunity for some Greyhounds who will not be participating in the conference championships next weekend in Portales.
