PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico men's and women's track and field will be going to the WT Last Chance meet to get one final opportunity to better times/marks for student-athletes to earn the best shot possible to advance to the 2025 NCAA DII outdoor track and field championships. Before the meet, please take a look at the 4x4 Preview:
1x4 – Championship Recap: For the first time since 2017, both Eastern New Mexico men's and women's track and field placed in the top five in team standings at the 2025 Lone Star Conference outdoor track and field championships. The men's team was highlighted by four event victories coming from
Jamoi Jackson (400m),
Hemon Joseph (decathlon),
Alex Williams (javelin), and the 4x100 relay. The men's group combined for 76 points over the three day meet. The women's team saw
Jodian Stewart win the long jump with a school record 6.41m leap. Several Hounds took podium finishes, including a second place effort in the 100m by
Grizell Scarlett. The team posted 64 points and came seven points shy of third place finishing Texas A&M-Kingsville.
2x4 – Nationals Outlook: Eastern New Mexico has 19 NCAA DII provisional marks for the upcoming national championship. Depending on the event, the governing body will invite a certain number of entries to each event. Some notable provisionals for ENMU entering the WT Last Chance Meet include
Grizell Scarlett (100m),
Jamoi Jackson (400m),
Timothy Frederick (400m),
Jodian Stewart (long jump), and
Kennedy Ulmer (discus). Scarlett ran 11.43s at last week's conference championship and currently sits with the 14th fastest time in the nation. Jackson's 45.86s time to win the LSC title in the 400m currently puts him as the fourth quickest runner in the event. His teammate
Timothy Frederick has the 18th best time in the 400m at 46.59s achieving the feat earlier this season in Canyon, Texas. Stewart is tied for second in the long jump with a leap of 6.41m. She has hovered around 6.30m for the latter half of the season and eclipsed the 6.40m mark on her final jump of the conference championships. Ulmer threw 48.91m in the discus at the team's home meet earlier this season and currently is 12th among throwers in the event.
3x4 – Relays Run Again: Three relay teams will enter this week's Last Chance Meet. The men will run a 4x100 and 4x400 team, while the women will enter the 4x100 squad. All three teams have a provisional time, but none are within the top 16 of team results this season. The men's 4x100 will consist of
Steve Taylor II,
Nicolo Salaris,
Timothy Frederick, and
Jamoi Jackson. The quad just won the LSC title in the event and will look to post a time good enough to make it to nationals. The men's 4x400 will be ran by
Elijah Davis,
Timothy Frederick,
Kyler Joe, and
Jamoi Jackson. The women's 4x100 will include
Jodian Stewart,
Helena Carboo-Klutsey,
Gabriela Elizalde, and
Grizell Scarlett. The team will need to run near a sub-45s time to make it to nationals.
4x4 – One Last Chance: A few Greyhounds who don't have existing provisional marks will be making their attempts this weekend. The Hounds will be represented by
Jamoi Jackson,
Nicolo Salaris, and
Steve Taylor II in the 100m and
Hemon Joseph in the long jump. On the women's side,

Jodian Stewart will run the 100m and
