PUEBLO, Colo. – Junior
Kennedy Ulmer finished sixteenth in the nation at the 2025 NCAA DII outdoor track and field championships in discus.
"It's nice being here at nationals. Not everybody gets to come here. I am proud of myself for being here," said Ulmer after the meet. "It's been an honor being able to represent ENMU here at the national meet."
Ulmer was invited to the championship for being one of the top 22 throwers in the event during the 2025 season. She posted a 46.06m (151-1) throw on her first attempt of the event. The Rio Rancho, N.M. native sat in sixth after the first flight and shifted to sixteenth after the second flight.
"It was really good for her to get her here and get that experience that we are going to use moving forward into next year," said assistant coach
Sinclair Pitts when asked about Ulmer's opportunity to get into the meet.
Ulmer had an excellent 2025 season that saw her earn second team all-LSC and all-south central region honors. During the year, she set school records in the javelin, hammer, and discus.
The Greyhounds will have one more competitor at the national meet.
Alex Williams is slated to throw in the javelin Saturday afternoon in Pueblo, Colo.
