GREENWOOD, Ind. – Five members of the Eastern New Mexico Baseball program were recognized to the Academic All-District® Team from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), on Tuesday morning.

Cole Lancaster,
Adrien Martin,
Anthony Cortese, and
Daniel Pruitt each garnered the award from the CSC. All five honorees earn the accolade for the first time in their careers.
Estrella, a business administration major from Buckeye, Ariz., led the Greyhounds with 49.0 innings pitched, holding a record of 6-2 on the mound. The right-hander finished the season with a 5.88 ERA (lowest among starting pitchers), tossing two complete games, and picking up one save.
Lancaster, a physical education major from Forney, Texas, topped Eastern with 11 starts on the mound, working two combined shutouts for the Greyhounds. The sophomore finished with 36 strikeouts in the season, holding opponents to a .295 batting average.
Martin, a criminal justice major from Albuquerque, N.M., finished as the season as the everyday first baseman for the Greyhounds, starting 43 games in 45 total games played. Martin garnered a .285 batting average, finishing second on the team with 36 walks, while hitting five home runs. The sophomore was recognized to the LSC All-Academic team in May.
Cortese, a university studies major from Fremont, Calif., was one of the top bats in the Greyhounds lineup, hitting .353 with 61 hits. The designated hitter drove in 48 runs on 13 doubles and five home runs, helping the Greyhounds set team single season records for on-base percentage and slugging percentage.
Pruitt, a sociology major from Gaston, Ore., was a key in the Greyhounds power hitting this season, standing third on the team with a .561 slugging percentage. The catcher racked up 10 home runs and six doubles, producing 32 RBIs in 123 at bats.
In order to be considered for the CSC Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve, playing in 90% of the team's games or start in 66.6% of the team's games with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
