PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico track and field will not compete at the 2026 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational. With snowy conditions expected across the Land of Enchantment, the team decided not to travel to the meet.

The two-day event is still taking place at the Albuquerque Convention Center on Jan. 23 and 24, but the University of New Mexico has not officially cancelled the meet, but Eastern New Mexico has decided not to participate for precautionary measures taking place with travel across the state.

ENMU is set to compete next week at the New Mexico Team Open from Jan. 30-31. More meet details will be shared at a later time.
