PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico men's and women's track and field is set for two days of competition at the Jarvis Scott Invite in Lubbock. Before the meet, please take a look at the 4x4 Preview:
1x4: Success in the ABQ – It was a notable week for Eastern New Mexico men's track and field in the Duke City as they posted 10 different top 10 finishes.
Eloy Serrano Borrego took fourth in the 800m after earning a 1:52.24 provisional time. In the invitational 400m,
Stefan Camejo was the runner-up with a 47.04 result. William McLilly continues to compile impressive clearances in the high jump. In the most recent meet, he earned a 1.95m (6-4.75) personal record.
2x4: School Record Watch – One of the most fun records to watch in 2026 has gone to the men's weight throw group. Back on Jan. 9 at the Friday Night Axe 'Em Open,
Devin Mata had a 14.76m (48-5.25) school record throw. Just weeks later, his teammate
Andre Smikle snagged the school's top mark at 15.39m (50-6). The weight throw crew for Eastern has made several key additions to the top five all-time list for the weight throw.
3x4: In the Race –
ENMU's women's program did not have any finishers in the top 10 in Albuquerque. Newcomer
Lesedi Anyika was a top 15 finisher with a time of 57.77s to guide the program in the 400m. Some notable marks include the short sprints hurdles group.
Devyn Ericksen (9.05s), Camila Gutierrez (9.29s), and
Korah Ives (9.35s) all competed in the 60m hurdles. The school record holder in the pole vault,
Minerva Cerda Hernandez, also competed at the meet hosted by UNM. She cleared 3.06m (10-0.5) on her first attempt and is actively preparing for the conference meet coming up in two weeks.
