LUBBOCK, Texas – Eastern New Mexico men's track and field took a dozen student-athletes to compete at the Jarvis Scott Invitational.
"A highly competitive meet," said head coach
Joshua Harden when asked about the weekend. "We needed this type of meet to make sure we are heading in the right direction as we approach conference."
Four Greyhounds ran the short 60m sprint.
Hemon Joseph (9.94s) was the top finisher for ENMU.
Jamo Williams (6.98s) and
Abisai Torres (7.01s) had top collegiate times.
Nicolo Salaris (7.04s) also finished the race. Three Hounds entered the 200m with Salaris finishing with the quickest time by a Hound at 21.91s.
ENMU had four finishers in the 400m.
Jayden McGregor had the fastest time for Eastern at 48.72s. He ranks in the top 25 in the LSC in the event.
Brian Norton (1:13.52) was the only ENMU runner competing in the 600y. He was joined by
Eloy Serrano Borrego and
Thomas Aerdts in the 800m. Serrano Borrego had the best time for Eastern at 1:52.72. He also had the top result in the 1000m for ENMU at 2:29.20. Aerdts finished the 1000m in 2:32.19. Both of those 1000Â times are in the top three in school history.
Byron Pruitt (8.50s) was the only Greyhound to compete in the 60m hurdles.
Two Greyhound jumpers competed as well.
Hemon Joseph had a 6.99m (22-11.25) mark in the long jump.
Devon Falco went 14.05m (46-1.25) in the triple jump. Falco ranks fifth in the conference in the event.
Eastern New Mexico has added a competition in Norman, Okla. this weekend. The Greyhounds will take the jumps squad to the meet hosted by the University of Oklahoma.
