ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico men's track and field earned a fifth place finish at the 2026 Lone Star Conference indoor championships.

Hemon Joseph won the long jump,
Strahinja Radakovic won the 60m hurdles, and
Eloy Serrano Borrego won the 800m.
Joseph had the best mark of his career with a 7.48m (24-6.5) jump. He did so on his first attempt of the afternoon. He secured the first-place spot by 0.11m (0-4.25). He is expected to qualify for nationals after his remarkable jump. Joseph was joined by
Cooper Burgess who took fourth after a major personal record 7.07m (23-2.5). Radakovic breezed through the competition with the fastest time in both the prelims and finals. His 8.05s time gave him the conference title and added 10 points to the team score. Lastly, freshman Serrano Borrego bettered his prelims time by two seconds to take the top crown in 1:51.80.
Also scoring in the 800m was
Thomas Aerdts who crossed the line in 1:55.25 to take sixth overall.
Two Greyhounds scored in shot put.
Andre Smikle had a personal record 14.80m (48-6.75) throw on his third throw of the day. He was joined by
Emiliano Morrison who took eighth with a 14.36m (47-1.5) mark.
Devin Mata snuck into eighth with a 14.93m (48-11.75) mark in weight throw.
Devon Falco was effective with a fourth place results in the triple jump as he leapt 14.32m (46-11.75). William McLilly cleared 1.90m (6-2.75).
Joseph also competed in the 60m securing a personal record 6.88s.
Kyler Joe (21.77s) and
Nicolo Salaris (21.83s) participated in the 200m. Newcomer
Stefan Camejo nearly qualified for the 400m finals, but he came just short, crossing the line in 47.62s.
The 4x400 squad of
Byron Pruitt,
Kyler Joe,
Stefan Camejo, and
Eric Collins snagged three points for taking sixth place after a school record 3:14.72 time.
Eastern New Mexico will now put their focus to the list of competitors to be released by the NCAA prior to the championship. Joseph is the only Greyhound expected to qualify for the meet.
