VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. –
Hemon Joseph is a second team all-american after finishing 14th at the 2026 NCAA DII indoor track and field championships in the long jump.
"Thankful for God, my teammates, and coaches," said
Hemon Joseph after the meet. "I want to thank coach Harden for giving me an opportunity to continue my career as a Greyhound."
On his third jump of the day, he went 7.04m (23-1.25). He was just over six inches away from clinching a trip to the finals in the event.
Joseph closes out his ENMU track and field career with several important distinctions. In 2025, he won the decathlon at the outdoor conference track and field championships. This season, he won the indoor long jump conference title. He was the only Greyhound to compete at the national meet.
"He is amazing," said head coach
Joshua Harden when asked about Joseph. "I am so ecstatic for him. It is not the result we wanted, but he has done so much good from battling through setbacks to qualifying for the national meet. He leaves ENMU as one of the best in out program's history."
Eastern New Mexico will now turn their attention to outdoor season. The 2026 campaign begins in El Paso, Texas this week.
