LUBBOCK, Texas – Eastern New Mexico women's track and field is continuing their excellent start to the outdoor season with a solid outing at the Masked Rider Open hosted by Texas Tech.
"The group is coming together," said head coach
Joshua Harden. "We continue to compete at a high level and are putting out some excellent performances."
For a third-straight season,
Kennedy Ulmer has a NCAA DII provisional mark in the discus. Ulmer posted a 47.17m (154-9) throw on her third attempt of the day. Her teammates
Paige Fowler (42.80m (140-5)) and
Madison Gigler (39.12m (128-4)) had PR's in the event. Hammer throw was a busy event for the Greyhounds as six student-athletes entered the competition. Two ENMU throwers,
Vivica Addison (44.75m (146-10)) and
Olivia Lucero (43.04m (141-2)), had personal best marks. The top Hound in the event was
SeiOriana Glass who posted a 47.50m (155-10) mark on her way to take third place. Addison also competed in the javelin and had a 40.19m (131-10) throw on her sixth and final attempt of the day.
The jumps crew had a solid day in Lubbock.
Aeriana Langley and
Korah Ives got the meet off to the right start in high jump. Langley tied her personal best with a 1.65m (5-5) clearance and Ives earned a new personal record at 1.60m (5-3).
Journie Alexander was the Hounds best competitor in the long jump with a 5.58m (18-3.75) mark.
Jerriana McWilliams had a personal best in long jump at 5.47m (17-11.5).
Celina Thomas had the best leap in triple jump for ENMU at 11.90m (39-0.5) and
Ashley Richburg had a big personal best in the same event at 11.65m (38-2.75).
Favorable winds helped all six ENMU short sprinters earn personal bests in the 100m.
Ambrosia Francis led the way with a 12.09s time. Her time is 0.03s away from getting into the top five all-time in school history. Also posting personal records were
Devyn Ericksen (12.15s),
Meredith Brown (12.16s),
Riley Midgett (12.18s),
Eniola Komolafe (12.42s), and
Leah Medina (12.79s). Francis was also the top sprinter for the Greyhounds in the 200m with a 25.09s finish.
Minerva Cerda Hernandez had a personal best 25.16s time in the short sprint race.
All three Greyhounds competing in the 400m ran under one minute.
Gabriela Elizalde led the crew with a 57.76s time that earns her a spot in the top-five in school history.
Cheyenne McGhee had a personal record 59.97s time.
Both
Elizabeth Lujan-Towles and
Joella Mathilda competed in the 1500m. Lujan-Towles was the top ENMU finisher with a 5:27.93 time. She also competed in the 5000m. The Chimayo, N.M. native completed the three-plus mile race in 20:35.13.
Maya Garcia Schafer joined her in the long distance event recording a time of 21:18.99.
Devyn Ericksen and
Korah Ives represented the Hounds in the short hurdles. Ericksen was fourth in the meet with a 14.14s time. Ives moves to third place all-time at ENMU with a 15.45s finish in the 100m hurdles.
Another impressive time for Eastern New Mexico came in the 4x100.

Riley Midgett,
Journie Alexander, and
Ambrosia Francis crossed the line in 46.86s and now hold the fifth fastest time in school history.
Eastern New Mexico will next compete at the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State from April 2-4.
