PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico women's track and field added two NCAA DII provisional marks at the Jo Meaker Classic and Multi this weekend.
"Pleased," commented head coach
Joshua Harden after the meet. "It was a solid weekend."
Nearly every sprinter had a personal record time in Canyon. The group combined for 15 of the school's 19 personal best marks set this weekend.
Ambrosia Francis led the crew with an 11.98s mark and earned a spot in the top five record books for school history.
Gabriela Elizalde also had a top five school mark with a 24.64s time in the 200m.
Minerva Cerda Hernandez moved into the top five in the 400m with a 57.61s personal best.
Both
Celina Thomas and
Kennedy Ulmer had provisional marks over the weekend. Thomas did so with a 12.09m leap in the triple jump. She ranks 15th nationally in the event. Ulmer got her second provo of the season after a 43.30m javelin throw. The finish marked an event win for the Rio Rancho, N.M. native, as well. She ties her teammate
Vivica Addison with the same distance achieved earlier this season. The both rank 25th nationally.
"Always a good weekend when you can have those types of performances," remarked Harden when talking about the provos. "We're doing the right things as we approach conference."
Ulmer also earned a personal best 50.16m mark in the hammer throw. It improved her current school record that she set during the 2025 campaign.
Another notable event for ENMU saw
Korah Ives compete in the heptathlon for the first time. She became just the third Greyhound to earn a point total in the multi. Over the course of two days she competed in 100m hurdles (14.98s), high jump, shot put, 200m, long jump, javelin, and 800m.
Eastern New Mexico will get straight into action as they host the Greyhound Open on April 18. The first event is slated to begin at 10 a.m. Additional information will be shared on www.goeasternathletics.com
