PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico women's track and field earned 18 personal best marks at the 2026 Greyhound Open Saturday.
"This was an overall good meet," said head coach
Joshua Harden. "It's always great to compete at home."
Seven marks in the top five school record books were improved or set this weekend.
The 4x100 squad of
Gabriela Elizalde,
Amarie Brown,
Journie Alexander, and
Ambrosia Francis set the new fifth best time in school history with a 46.85s time. Beating out the previous mark by one hundredth of a second.
The long jump was a highlight for the team as three Hounds earned personal bests in the event.
Celina Thomas' jump of 5.74m moves her to second all-time in school record books.
Jerriana McWilliams also made the top five list with her 5.62m jump. Elizalde had a PR with a 5.59m leap. McWilliams continued her great performance at the Greyhound Open in the triple jump. She went 11.73m for a new PR and to take third in school history in the event.
Hammer was another strong event for the Greyhounds.
Kennedy Ulmer improved her school record with a 50.21m throw.
Jha'Niah Johnson remains in second in the event with a PR of 50.01m. First year Hound
SeiOriana Glass tied her PR and now sits fourth in school history with a 48.11m throw.
Olivia Lucero (44.32m) and
Paige Fowler (38.52m) had personal best throws, as well.
The top 100m sprinter for ENMU was
Ambrosia Francis with a 12.32s time.
Minerva Cerda Hernandez led the way in the 200m with a PR of 25.15s. Cerda Hernandez also had ENMU's best time in the 400m at 57.65s. Four Greyhounds had personal bests in the 400m. They included
Treasure Burrows (58.58s),
Meghan Rodriguez (58.64s),
Cheyenne McGhee (59.44s), and
Meredith Brown (1:00.93s).

Gabriela Elizalde,
Jha'Niah Johnson,
Kennedy Ulmer,
Journie Alexander,
Ambrosia Francis, and
Olivia Lucero as part of the 2026 graduating class.
"Incredibly honored to coach this group," said Harden when asked about the senior ceremonies. "We wish all of them the best as they go on to bigger and better things."
Eastern New Mexico track and field will compete next at a meet in San Angelo, Texas. More information will be provided at a later time.
